Specific accountabilities:
 
The position will be responsible for the preparation, drafting, negotiating and finalization of lease and collateral documentation for office tenants and for retail tenants within the Western Region. Including the drafting of special clauses and conditions relating to documentation, using Ivanhoe Cambridge’s Tenant Information System (TIPS). Collateral documentation shall include letter agreements, renewals, extensions, amendments, surrenders and transfers. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that the lease documentation is prepared, negotiated and executed efficiently and effectively in a team setting and within expected time periods. This position will report to the Director, Legal Affairs for Western Region and will include assisting due diligence projects and other special projects and in keeping current various reports in connection with lease documentation, statistics and tracking.
 
 
Key requirements
  • A post-secondary education with an emphasis on Law is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years related industry experience in commercial leasing (with emphasis on office leasing) and the preparation/administration of legal documentation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and computer (MS Office) skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, a team player able to work well with others and independently, able to work effectively under pressure, balance numerous priorities and learn to work with the TIPS system.
