Specific accountabilities: 



  • Assist in the consolidation of the Region, including the completion of the Quarterly Reporting Package (QUARP).
  • Liaison with other disciplines of the organisation i.e. Property Financial Administration, Centre personnel, Development, I. T., Corporate Finance, Property Services Group and others.
  • Prepare quarterly Fixed Assets and Cash Flow Reports.
    • Set up Excel models for the Western Region properties for fixed assets.
    • Determine the nature of change in balance for each asset type for each property by reviewing the General Ledger detail reports.
  • Assist in the co-ordination of the Budget and Forecast processes and provide training and support as required.
    • Provide TIPS support to the Region's General Managers during the Budget and Forecast process.
    • Co-ordinate with General Managers and the accounting group to ensure timelines are followed in order to achieve deadlines.
  • Assist in other functions within the Controller Group.
  • Plan and co-ordinate internal audits.
    • Development of the schedule.
    • Working with the other members of the accounting team, develop the internal audit program.
    • Prepare internal audit files.
  • Coordinate the preparation of individual property financial statements and CAM statements.
    • Liaise with external auditors to ensure auditor queries are cleared.
    • Development of schedules for both the financial statements and CAM statements.
    • Provide training and support to the Accountants on the preparation of financial statements and CAM statements.
  • Review of accounts payable.
  • Management of the marketing budgets.
    • Review of the budgets competed by the Marketing Directors.
    • Uploading the budgets into JDE.
    • Communicating with the Marketing Directors to ensure deadlines are met and any required training is provided.
  • Cross-train in all positions within the accounting group to allow for backfill.
  • Special projects as assigned by Assistant Controller or Controller.
Key requirements
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
  • Final stages of CGA/CMA Designation.
  • Proficiency in MS-Excel, MS-Word and MS-PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Hyperion, J. D. Edwards and TIPS.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.
