Specific accountabilities:
 
The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation and analysis of forecasts, financial reports, financial models and cash flow projections, in line with strategic plans.
  • Help consolidate operational and financial information and prepare quarterly and annual reports for the region.
  • Liaise with other groups within the organization.
  • Participate in the coordination of the budget preparation process and provide training as necessary.
  • Participate in the coordination of the quarterly forecast preparation process: provide user support to general managers while forecasts and budgets are being developed.
  • Coordinate with general managers and the accounting group to ensure compliance with the budget calendar and meet established timeframes.
  • Help complete the financial section of strategic plans and the modelling of cash flows for centres, in accordance with the instructions provided.
  • Analyze financial and operational information.
  • Prepare GST/QST reports and the corresponding payments.
  • Prepare tax returns for the region.
  • Prepare the allocation of administrative expenses for the region (real and budgeted).
  • Assist with various projects that may arise and other tasks within the controller’s group.
   
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA (CMA, CGA or CA) designation completed or underway.
  • Three years of relevant experience, specifically as regards the budget preparation process and the quarterly analysis of financial information.
  • Experience in the real estate industry an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of TIPS, Hyperion and JD Edwards an asset.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
