Senior Property Accountant
Finance - Eastern Region

Specific accountabilities:
The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for the monthly accounting, the analysis of financial information provided by property managers and partners, the maintenance of capital budget and the preparation of the annual budget forecast for assigned non-managed properties         
  • Input and analyze the financial information provided by property managers and partners;
  • Coordinate the receipt of monthly/quarterly reporting packages from property managers and partners and ensure the completeness of the packages;
  • Prepare monthly adjusting entries;
  • Maintain strong relationships with various property managers and partners;
  • Prepare monthly and year end reconciliations;
  • Participate to the preparation of the forecasts and operation budgets as well as the capital budget;
  • Analyze monthly/quarterly financial and management reports in comparison with approved business plans and budgets;
  • Prepare monthly analysis of operating budget variances;
  • Participate to the internal audit process;
  • Maintain liaison with other disciplines of the organization, i.e. Co-owners, Operations, Treasury, Property Services, Property Financial Administration, etc.;
  • Special projects as assigned by the finance and operations teams.
Key requirements
  • Professional Accounting Designation of CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA, or in the process of obtaining one;
  • Minimum of  three years of experience in general accounting: experience in real estate accounting an asset;
  • Proficiency in MS Office; J.D. Edwards, an asset;
  • Fully bilingual (French and English) both spoken and written;
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a team environment
