Specific accountabilities:
  • Responsible for leasing the MRU program at the property, monitors visual merchandising presentation of MRU's and Kiosks in order to constantly upgrade professionalism of Retailers within the centre;
  • Assists the Regional Manager in preparation and coordination of Temporary Occupancy Agreements on an ongoing basis and ensures appropriate approvals; obtains all pertinent documentation for lease execution (ie., security deposits, insurance certificates, post-dated cheques, etc.);
  • Works directly with the Regional Manager to ensure income projections per the established budget are being met as well as assists the team to achieve the NOI projections for the Property and Region;
  • Prospects for Specialty Retailers offering unique product lines in order to expand merchandise mix of the shopping centre.   Follow-up with prospective retailers, cold calling and maintain organized system of contacts;
  • Answers all incoming calls from Specialty Retailers, responds to mail and e-mail concerning program. Forward information regarding the program to prospective retailers;
  • Coordinates move-ins with Retailers that pertain to MRU's, Kiosks and Sponsorship events;
  • Maintains constant contact with Specialty Retailers and Vending contacts at the centre and ensures day to day operations run smoothly;
  • Monitors and is accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of MRU's;
  • Coordinates with the Property Administrators to assure timely payment of Specialty Retailers rent obligations, including Percentage Rent and delinquency collections;
  • Works with partners such as Pattison and Neo to track advertising bookings.  Assists the Regional Manager with advertising proposals and executing Regional specialty leasing and partnership deals;
  • Preparation of proposals for prospective sponsorship prospects and assists Specialty Leasing and Partnerships Manager in identifying and executing local partnership opportunities;
  • Generates reports as required. 
Key requirements 
  • A post-secondary education or industry related experience;
  • Direct sales experience would be an asset;
  • Self-directed, self-confident individual who is achievement oriented; 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines; 
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Computer skills utilizing Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and MAC.
