Specific accountabilities:
 
Reporting to the Vice-President, Public Affairs and Communications, the Translator/ Revisor will be in charge of carrying out and coordinating the translation and revision of an array of specialized texts from various in-house sources, including the Public Affairs Department.
 
  • Translate texts of a specialized nature from English to French, in accordance with Ivanhoé Cambridge’s scheduling requirements and strict quality criteria;
  • Ensure texts adapted into French adhere to the highest linguistic standards;
  • Supervise and edit the work of freelance translators;
  • Coordinate outsourced translations and maintain a list of high-quality specialized freelancers;
  • Coordinate and revise the translation of annual activity and CSR reports;
  • Source and research appropriate terminology and maintain a bilingual lexicon in line with Ivanhoé Cambridge’s needs;
  • Maximize the impact of every text based on the client’s goals;
  • Track pending projects and ensure established deadlines are met. 
 
Key requirements 
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in translation;
  • At least eight years of experience in translation/revision or copywriting/research;
  • Experience in the investment and/or business sector a must;
  • Familiarity with communications and public affairs;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
  • Highly efficient, self-directed and detail-oriented;
  • Professionalism and commitment to quality client relations;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to handle several projects at once with ease.
