Specific accountabilities:
 
This position will be responsible for creating a harmonized Construction and Tenant Coordination Managers’ “tool box” formats, procedures, and integrated project reporting systems at the project level.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate monthly construction team reviews & project reporting are completed for each project in the development pipeline;
  • Increase risk management analysis of projects;
  • Ensure each team is forecasting project costs and project exposures correctly and managing their monthly forecast consistently;
  • Ensure completion of monthly MFR preparation reviews;
  • Complete comprehensive project level reporting;
  • Integrate project team reporting to Ivanhoé Cambridge’s development reporting and accounting systems;
  • Create project level procedure manuals;
  • Instruct & mentor project teams and their third party construction managers;
  • Review each third party construction management company’s procedures, cost control systems,  and cost management;
  • Work with Joint Venture partners in Brazil:
    • Improve procedures and reporting system tools used during construction process to support Development Managers & Senior Management;
    • Ensure accurate and consistent project level reporting and FTC forecasting for each project.
   
Key requirements
  • Graduate in Civil Engineering and/or a graduate of Building Sciences and Project Management and/or an graduate architect or a design graduate from a credited college or university or design school would be an asset.
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years of experience in commercial real estate primarily the Design and Construction of large Shopping Centres, Office Buildings and/or mixed use projects.
  • Experience in developing complex project management reporting processes and tools.
  • Experience and ability to lead, manage, motivate and administer a large staff.
  • A team player with excellent organization and communication skills with solid industry knowledge.
  • Innovative, creative and flexible.
  • A problem solver with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Established industry relationships and contacts.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be considered an asset.
