Specific accountabilities:
  • Oversee the management of designated assets in order to maximize their returns and ensure compliance with various investment agreements, in accordance with Ivanhoé Cambridge’s business practices.
  • Monitor the progress of approved business plans; ensure they are aligned with market realities and Ivanhoé Cambridge’s strategic plan; recommend courses of action (disposition, refinancing, repositioning, approval of capital expenditures) to increase profitability.
  • Lead asset repositioning projects; coordinate teams of internal and external partners as concepts are developed and rolled out in compliance with Ivanhoé Cambridge’s procedures and approvals.
  • Direct managers in order to meet projected operating results for the properties and constantly seek out ways of improving these results. Analyze financial reports and monthly/quarterly management reports against approved business plans and budgets and issue the appropriate recommendations.
  • Work with the investment team to validate assumptions for acquisition, disposition, development and other financial analysis proposals involving current and potential assets located in designated markets.
  • Represent the Company on various management committees and maintain excellent business relations with Ivanhoé Cambridge partners; liaise with internal and external stakeholders concerning financial and management information.
  • Review and recommend the adoption of annual operating and capital budgets and business plans for each of the assets assigned to him or her and ensure the specified timeframes are met.
 
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, administration or real estate; master’s degree in a relevant discipline an asset.
  • Professional title (CFA or C.App.) an asset.
  • Eight to twelve years of related experience in residential property administration or real estate asset management.
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Team-oriented, self-directed, inquisitive, driven and committed to continuous quality improvement.
  • Strong analytical and information processing skills.
  • Accomplished communicator.
  • Available to travel regularly for work.
